遼寧街夜市

A much smaller night market than the typical Taipei night market with just a few restaurants, but a good spread of choices at that. It’s really only two or three small blocks of vendors, but there is enough variety for things to try. The good thing was that there was no line for any of the spots we ended up wanting to try. The vendor prices were fair and people were very friendly. We came upon this spot on the first night in Taiwan and it really set the tone for the entire trip.

I walked 10mins as the night market is close by the hotel. Would not recommend. Only a handful of stalls operating and nothing much to offer in my honest opinion. However, there are plenty of restaurants around that area (if the night market does not excite you).

Goose City (might not be the correct translation) at Liaoning Street Night Market. Good place to experience Taipei traditional tastes, especially good for groups of 6 or more. Sometimes rowdy but in a celebratory tone. I've been here many times with various groups and have never been disappointed. Oh! The food is great.

We went to this tiny night market near the Brother Hotel, just about 8 minutes walk. It's a street with a few restaurants instead of a big night market. No shopping here. We ate at one of the restaurant and for about 700 Taiwanese dollars, we had 3 big dishes of food with meat, veggies and noodles. Quite enough for the 4 of us.

Of the night markets in Taipei this is my favorite for spicy duck blood soup and oyster omelette. This night market is smaller than compared to the others in Taipei. It doesn’t have the games and even the street isn’t closed off to cars. Yet when I’m in Taipei I will go specifically for the soup, it’s that good.
