Songshan Raohe Night Market

We visited Raohe Street Night Market in the night to experience one of Taipei's most famous night markets. The market has a vibrant atmosphere, with rows of food stalls, local snacks, souvenir shops, and games, making it a great place to spend a few hours exploring. During our visit, we tried several popular street foods, including the peanut roll ice cream, fried chicken, grilled corn, xiao long bao, and scallion pancake. Every stall had its own specialty, and there were plenty of delicious options to choose from, so it's worth coming with an empty stomach. The night market usually starts getting busy in the late afternoon, with most stalls operating from around 5:00 PM until midnight. If you prefer a less crowded experience, it's best to arrive around 5:00–6:00 PM. The market becomes much busier after 7:00 PM, especially on weekends. Getting here is very convenient by public transport. Simply take the MRT to Songshan Station and use Exit 5. From there, it's only a short walk of about 2 to 3 minutes to the entrance of the night market. The location is well connected, making it easy to visit even if you're staying in other parts of Taipei. Overall, Raohe Street Night Market is a must-visit for anyone travelling to Taipei. Whether you're looking to sample authentic Taiwanese street food, shop for souvenirs, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere, it's an experience you shouldn't miss.

Also, many of the food stalls and smaller vendors accept cash only, so it’s a good idea to bring enough cash with you to avoid any inconvenience.

Raohe night market is bustling with life. There’s food, there’s games, and there’re assortment of stuff sold. It is very interesting and quite big too. We couldn’t finish walking through the whole street, just walked one way down so only saw half the stuff before our legs gave in. Bought a couple of stuff too. Really like the atmosphere and life in this place.

If you’re visiting Taipei, Raohe Night Market (饒河街觀光夜市) is definitely a must-visit! Conveniently located right next to Songshan Station, it’s very easy to get to. The night market has a great atmosphere, with a wide variety of delicious local street food and plenty of fun souvenirs to browse. From savoury snacks to sweet treats, there’s something for everyone. It’s lively, vibrant, and gives you a true taste of Taipei’s night market culture. Highly recommended to come hungry and take your time exploring—this place is packed with good food and energy. Definitely one of the must-visit night markets in Taiwan!

One of the best night markets I’ve visited while in Asia. There are not many that compare. All the food we tried here was insanely delicious. There are a lot of Michelin recommended stalls to try for such cheap prices. The black sesame buns at the entrance of the night market are a must we got three of these on separate occasions. Lots of oyster mushrooms to try as well as Chinese hamburgers. Lots of games to play in the claw machines along the way although please keep in mind these are quite rigged. Highly recommend checking out this place when you’re In Taiwan I would definitely go out of your way to come here.
