Onyxbar phuket

I had a surprising experience here tonight, both good and not so good. The drinks were impressive, on par with the best craft cocktail bars in Thailand and beyond, and well-priced at about $11 USD each. However, if you are not Thai, you might feel unwelcome and out of place. Tonight was a Saturday night, and I was the only one there (around 10pm) who was not Thai and not a regular. The cocktail menu is in English but the bartender does not speak English and can't answer any questions or tell you much about the drinks. Which would not be a huge issue if he didn't simply ignore me. He engaged with all the other (Thai) patrons but me, never once checked on me or asked if I liked the drink or if I would like to order another. I had to get his attention and ask each time. Also, for a western style craft cocktail bar that charges 400 baht per drink, it was surprising that they do not take credit card. One of the Thai patrons cheekily told me that I could scan pay with a Thai bank account. He motioned around the bar and told me they rarely get foreign customers like me, only Thai regulars. So yeah, it's by Thais for Thais, which is totally fine, I just wish I knew that going in so I could adjust my expectations. Great drinks though.

Hidden bar in Phuket old town. Just follow the sign, you may not believe there still a bar behind the old building but worth the exploration! The cocktail is superb! The bartender and owner is super nice. Come and enjoy it here when it’s still a hidden before it surely becomes one of the very famous in Phuket!

This bar has some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had! The mixologists really know their stuff, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed night out. A must-visit if you're looking for quality drinks in a cool setting.
