Unexpectedly good!! I thought it was gonna be prepped for foreigners, but this is local taste with balanced sweet and sour. Homemade roasted chilly and nuts are separated, so you can choose to mix or not. Vegetables are fresh! “เส้นจันทน์“ (Cen-Chan) is Thai authentic, no tweak for foreigners. “หมี่กรอบ” (Mi-grob) received Michelin Star. Fried oyster is a bit different from others in that its crisp outside and soft inside. If you have 2-3 people, I suggest ordering these 3 each and share. Lastly, they have coconut pudding as a dessert. Try it, please! Owner is very welcome. He introduced menu and ingredients. The place has been opened for 5 years, but the dishes and service make you feel like dining in a nice restaurant. Ignore the price* All menus are worth to spend. If you drive here, there are BKK underground parking lots, plenty.

Mae Thum Pad Thai is a charming little spot in Bangkok’s Old Town that proves great food does not need a fancy setting. The restaurant is very small, with around 20 seats, and there is no air conditioning, but the flavour and authenticity make it well worth a visit. The Pad Thai here has a genuinely traditional taste: balanced, fragrant, and full of character. The ingredients feel fresh, and the dried shrimp adds a delicious savoury depth that makes each bite more memorable. For those looking for something a little different, the crispy noodle Pad Thai is also available and gives a nice textural twist to the classic dish. Another highlight is the warm hospitality. The owner is friendly and welcoming, which adds to the local, home-style atmosphere of the restaurant. It feels like a place that focuses on doing one thing very well rather than trying to impress with decoration. Parking is not available directly at the restaurant, but you can find parking nearby with a short walk. Overall, Mae Thum Pad Thai is an authentic, tasty, and humble Old Town gem that is definitely worth trying.

They use the typical wide noodle for their Pad Thai. The noodle was a bit on the dry side and very chewy. It was a bit too chewy for me Their Pad Thai has very bold flavors, sweet, savory, and well balanced. It was smokey with small shrimps cooked together with the noodles. They're served with additional shrimps and fried peanuts. The peanuts could have added nice savoriness, but because they were halved and still too big, they couldn't mix well with the noodles. It almost felt like the peanuts were more of a snack on the side instead of being part of the dish. They also gave bean sprouts, spring onions, and lime as sides. The indoor dining area is quite small, but there are also outdoor seating areas at the front and on the side of the store. They have a bathroom available for customers, though you need to walk past the kitchen to get to it. It was incredibly clean, they even provide tissues, and the overall cleanliness really stood out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was no line when we visited, and our food was served in about 10–15 minutes. Note: they only accept CASH.

Great food! Great atmosphere, the owners vibe and energy is contagious, he makes everyone that comes here feel special, my girlfriend and I ended up hanging out here for a while and talking with him what an awesome guy! The crispy padthai was amazing (her favorite) and the traditional padthai was my personal favorite very very good! Perfect flavor not too much oil, by far my favorite padthai I have had in Thailand! Haha here’s some photos of the food and the owner on my motorcycle lol made my day! Can park right in front also very easy.

I found this place via google maps. I stay in Chinatown and was looking for local Thai breakfast options. They open at 10am and I was their first customer. As they were not busy, I had a chat with the chef. He’s been cooking for 30 years and setup this restaurant 5 years ago. I’ve been to Thailand many times and even took cooking lessons in Phuket on Pad Thai, this was the best (tasty) and really authentic Pad Thai I’ve ever had. I ordered prawn Pad Thai (120B), but if you are vegan, they have the plain Pad Thai (90B) option which is amazing too, comes with fried toufu and vegetables. Definitely recommend for you to check this place out, and you can walk to a near by cafe to chill. The chef had a wall of air plants and you can just see the love he has for creating an amazing ambience. The restaurant was full by 11.30am (that was a Thursday 😆), so I left to make space for others.
