While the variety of dishes in the standard set meal ($880) was good, the dishes were a little lacklustre as we expected great things from other reviews. The food was lukewarm when it arrived and we would have appreciated it if it was hot. The sashimi was average but a little fishy and dry overall, as if it had been left out a bit too long. We went with the steak as it was their signature/chefs recommendation, however do note that it is cooked medium rare and a little too rare in some areas. We also received the cuts that had lots of beef sinews / tendons which made it difficult to chew and cut… The best dishes for us was the hotpot, as the soup was sweet after simmering the meat and vegetables for a while. I also enjoyed the mushroom rice although the portion is quite small.

Very value for money Japanese restaurant here that is just about 7 mins walk from the XMD area. I think booking is highly recommended if you don't wanna wait during peak meal times. Menu is simple. NT$880 for a 5 + 1 course meal. You get a cold appetiser, a shabu soup, a sashimi/grilled Saba fish, a main course (more to that later), a dessert and a drink. Menu starts from NT$880 for basic main course. You can select their signature beef steak or beef cube, to grilled salmon, steak with lobster, wagyu etc by adding on additional cost to the base price. There are about 8 to 10 main courses to choose from iirc. The shabu soup set itself is already considered a proper main course to pair with rice in most simple Japanese eatery. But for this, it is just one of the dish. The second appetiser is a choice between fresh sashimi or grilled Saba. The presentation of the sashimi and the freshness of the fish gives a good vibe that this is a proper Japanese sushi restaurant. There is also this claypot rice with the option of mushroom or a topup to wagyu. Two pax will share 1 serving. I recommend the mushroom one as I hardly tasted the wagyu with the wagyu version. I had the beef cubes for my main. It is done 70% cooked, served with their signature pepper sauce over hot stone to keep the meat warm throughout. The meat was tasty and the portion is generous. Dessert was not any cheap ice cream cups but nicely presented matcha ice cream with mochi. Service was impeccable and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

This should be on Michelin Bib Gourmand! The quality of food, the presentation and the taste, all thumbs up. The pineapple bitter squash drink was particularly an interesting creation and tastes great. The mocha cake was also impressive. Great value for its price! Highly recommended!

1st visited here in 2019 (I saw the date from my previous 5 star rating 🤣). Everyone in a group of 6 were impressed then. In Taiwan for a solo trip now (2024) and this is on my list of must go places. Manage to drop by today and still impressed with everything. I made a booking for one and they prepared a nice cozy seat for me. Compare to other similar range restaurants I visited in Taiwan, this is super vale for $$ They're so good in everything I dun even understand how they did not get a perfect rating. But u should know this is really good at 4.7 for more than 9k reviews
