$500 worth omakase experience for only $200 in Taiwan. They seat around 10 people for lunch and dinner at the bar for an intimate experience with the chef. The chef chats with every customer and puts in the effort to learn and introduce each of his dish in English. The chef was also the main mood maker throughout dinner as he would make jokes with everyone and even served some alcohol on the house so the restaurant could take a group shot together. The food itself was absolutely beautiful and delicious. There were so many courses that I lost count and left feeling like my stomach was going to pop out of my dress. Their signature dish absolutely has to be their dried fish served in a gas chamber for some extra theatrical points. The chef said that this is the flavor that you will miss and he is absolutely correct. Highly recommend giving them a try if omakase is on your to try list in Taiwan.

When we say 16 sushi is the best omakase we have tasted in a long while.. it means something as we are avid Japanese foodie and travel to Japan often for the food. Firstly, they only serve omakase, No ala carte. 16-course in total for TWD 6000 per pax. You get your money worth! From A5 beef to generous portion of uni, special delicacy fish like fish duct sperm and of course otoro to name a few. The chef is Japanese and apparently he was poached from Hong Kong recently. His knife skill is superb! Also the chef is very creative. His uni with deep fried fish was his invention and it was doing magic in my mouth! Good selection of alcohol beverages. We had sake. They even gave my partner a suprise birthday cake with candles and they sang Happy Birthday. That was a nice touch and we appreciated it very much. Waiters are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We asked the waiters why is the restraunt names 16 sushi and they said its because the owner who is Taiwanese bought the shop on 16th of the month and the shop address is 16. We will recommend 16 sushi to everyone in Taipei who wants 5-star omakase!

Thoughtful, artistic and downright yummy food. Service is extremely attentive and friendly. The chef/owner is utterly devoted and passionate. Food coming from the back kitchen was flawless as well. The setting is so beautiful and refined. We went on a Friday night and things got a bit rowdy, which was super fun. Ended up making friends and going out for drinks after lol. Good times

Exceptional sushi, and I think the best I’ve had in Taipei even compared to a very famous Michelin star one. 16 sushi has impeccable interiors, the natural wood is reminiscent of Kyoto temple architecture, the dishes and quality of the fish was remarkable. Delicate yet complex flavors aside, I loved that sushi master had great depth of knowledge in aging fish. We had 41 day aged toro (sooo yummy) and a few of the other pieces of sushi were also with aged fish, which gave the fish so much more depth in flavors. This is definitely THE sushi restaurant I would come back to next time I came to Taipei. I think it’s Michelin star worthy.

I really loved the décor of the restaurant. The atmosphere was great, and the food and service were excellent. The chef's skills were impressive, and the quality of the ingredients was definitely worth the price. My friend and I ate until we were completely stuffed. We even had to ask the chef a few times how many pieces were left because we were so full. But the food was so delicious that we ended up finishing everything anyway, haha. I’ll definitely be coming back here!
