Definitely book ahead even though the weather is not guaranteed. Each item of food was carefully crafted, appealing to the eye and delicious! Beware of the line to enter the building, so best arrive at least 30min before your appointment as the elevator wait might take a while. I saw some tables that weren’t by the window&can only say I was extremely lucky to be seated by a corner of windows. The mocktail wasn’t my favorite but that’s a matter of taste. A must experience at least once.

Located at Taipei 101, on 86 floor. A Joy is Taiwan's most luxurious and highest panoramic buffet, located on the 86th floor of Taipei 101. It features over 300 upscale dishes inspired by Taiwanese geography across four themed zones (Mountain, Sea, Plains, and City) and includes premium ingredients like A5 wagyu, lobster, uni, and truffle. A very sumptuous feast, the biggest buffet I’ve seen. It’s definitely worth if you’re a big eater. There’s so many things to try. Come here hungry. After experiencing dinner and lunch at A Joy, I can finally leave my honest review. First experience during dinner was perfect. The food was great, view was stunning. No complaint on the service either. Got to sit by the window both times. The lunch experience I had recently was had a few hiccups. The oysters were a hit or miss. First few it was good, then went back for another but it was a little off and not as fresh. One main issue that didnt sit right with me was the service from one of the food server, specifically the male employee that was serving the duck wrap on a Sunday in March… there was no line but when I took a second too long to decide, he gave a bad attitude as if he had something else to attend to and I was taking up his time. For a high end buffet place on top of Taipei 101, I expect quality service all around. Theres always a few bad seed I guess. Overall, both services had all the same food and more than enough time for the whole experience (about 3 hours). Sitting at the window gives the best experience. Every other server was attentive and helpful. However, with the increase of price since last year, I would love to see more new dishes and well trained employees all around.

Mother's day dinner at the Taipei 101 Sky Tower dining on the 86th floor. I recommend making a reservation in advance if you plan on dining here. Check in counter on the first floor. There were artists doing a sketch of moms and giving moms the sketch. Overall the food was alright. Some items were better like the sashimi and wagyu section were good. Lots of people in line for lobster, but my parents said that was kind of dry. Nice dessert variety. There's coffee, tea, alcohol (cocktails) and fruit juices you can choose from. If you want wine, that's an extra fee. At the end, we got a postcard. I wrote our address, dropped it in their "future mailbox" and the staff will mail it for you. Great view as well.

Loved the experience and food options. Some of the seasonal special items collaborated with celebrity chefs weren't as impressive as expected, however the choice of Taiwanese local unique ingredients to bring it the distinctive Taiwanese touch was excellently attempted. Whilst it is indeed costly, the cost is comparable with good buffet is Sydney but with way more choices and much better quality. It's definitely worth a try.
