the yummiest thing about the 二合一飯糰 is how massive it is. its basically the size of a newborn baby and i cannot explain the feeling of luxury, satisfaction, and 過癮ness of holding that hot, hefty rice roll in my hands , knowing that i will be absolutely devouring it . even though i was stuffed at the end, i was so 捨不得 and reluctant to finish it, hoping it would never end. as well as being enormous , it’s also pretty freaking delicious. there is a peppery 胡椒 flavour combined with the warm egg of the scallion pancake, and it’s absolutely FILLED TO THE BRIM (like you have to unhinge your jaw to get it all) with fragrant, sweet pork floss, slightly tangy pickled veggies/radish, and the most crunchy, savoury pieces of youtiao . of course, they absolutely pack in an insanely generous amount of fresh, warm rice , and wrap it all in a gloriously flaky, crispy, slightly chewy scallion pancake with that classic oily flavour while surprisingly not feeling very oily or heavy at all ?? honestly, the only improvement i’d make is that i kinda felt like it needed some sauce or something — in the first few bites, it was really rice-heavy and felt like it lacked a bit of flavour, but i quickly got to the middle where all the ingredients were STUFFED, so i didn’t need it anymore, but i still think it would make it even better ! they also get super busy, and it’s just the lady and the man working as an absolute UNIT even in the heat (it’s like they never stop moving and never stop working dynamically for even a second), so you’ll have to be a bit patient.
