It’s my first time at this restaurant, didn’t preserve so we share table with one more customer. We didn’t know what to eat so I just ordered a combo set. Served with free hot tea, wet wipe and dessert. The price hasn’t added service fee yet (-10%). The food was so delicious and fresh, I was stunned for the size of the fish pieces, they cut a big float and removed all the bone. The staffs are friendly and can speak English (I didn’t know any Chinese). I like the decoration and how the old staffs working there, it’s very traditional. The price is acceptable for a fine dining experience, around 5-800NTD per pax is enough. I recommend you guys should try the deluxe chigashi or sashimi set only, I think it would be nice if you can manage to sit near the chef counter to see how they prepare the food. Overall score: 8.5/10
05/02/2026 I just tried their NT$2000 per person no Menus dishes. It is very memorable dinner. It's one of the best place to enjoy Japanese food. The portion size is so big that You need to be careful not to over order. Their shrimp tempura is one of the best in Taipei.
My friend Mav introduced us to this hole in the wall down a random side street. With the enticing expectation fresh, huge salmon slabs, Mav made us a reservation to get us seated right away. We got the deluxe chirashi (with special addition of scallop for 120) (comes with a soup too!), 2 Hokkaido scallop orders, deep fried crab roll, hamachi kama, and veggie. This was way too much food for our party of 3 adults. It was fairly loud inside due to the cramped seating, and the bathroom through the tiny kitchen area (where you have to squeeze past the worker making tiny fish dishes) is a little odd, but the overall ambience is of a small izakaya. Restroom itself is tiny, you barely have room to turn around. Fun for a good dinner out with adults. There is a small enclosed area more exposed to the outside at the entrance where there were 2 parties with young kids, and would definitely recommend aiming for that area if you have little ones. It's quite cramped inside. The table next to us got a hot pot so it was extra warm. Sashimi was fresh and very good, pretty much every piece was melt in your mouth despite the thick cuts. I wasn't a fan of the egg roe slab inside the Hokkaido scallop, but my understanding is that they are quite expensive. I took pictures of every page of the menu. Most of it has English which was helpful. I overheard the wait staff telling someone else that the items with red numbers are not available for dinner, so keep that in mind if those look good to you!
Very big portions, fresh fish and good cp ratio. The groups of waitresses aunties are very fun to watch, i enjoyed the show . Thanks
This place is definitely one of the most unique sushi restaurants in Taipei. It’s dark and crowded and hidden on an alley off of Yenji st. The staff are very friendly and helpful and if you’re not sure of what to order they have a lot of great recommendations. We got the tuna, scallop, and sword fish sushi along with the stewed pork and a deep fried pork cutlet which came with a seaweed side dish , rice, and miso soup. The pork items were good but the sushi was very fresh and tasty. They fish portions are very generous and delicious. However, on my next visit I will definitely try their speciality which is thick cut sashimi bowls. The tables around us all ordered them and I was shocked at the huge cuts of fish. Traditionally, the fish is cut in thin strips but this store gives you big thick chunks of meat. I’ll be back for round 2!! You need to check this spot out. And I would recommend calling and making a reservation.
