Ya Ge

Posh ambience; great place for family dining with dim sum / Chinese / canton dishes. Didn’t get to eat their Peking duck as it needs to be pre-ordered in advance. Their roast meats are yummy so I’d reckon their Peking duck would be high quality too 😋 The three dots crab came in fancy presentation and filled with strands of meat that’s delicate and delicious.

One of my finest Cantonese meals. Every element thoughtfully meditated upon, down to the sweet soft carrot upon which the dumplings were steamed. Love the use of mushroom varietals. And what a stunning huge dried scallop. The green garoupa was fresh and light, the pumpkin soup equally beautiful. Almond cream quite the experience. It’s clear the chef is a master who whispers to the food, something as simple as roast chicken was sublime; it’s always a privilege to have a dining experience like this. Soothing elegant interiors in shades of nude and black, with a selection of antiques. Also shoutout to Vale for taking such good care of us.

Absolutely outstanding Cantonese dining experience at Ya Ge. During this trip, I stayed at Mandarin Oriental Taipei, and discovering this restaurant turned out to be the absolute highlight of my entire journey. The dim sum was unbelievably delicious!! honestly a million times good. Every bite was delicate, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The crispy pork belly was exactly how it should be: crackling skin, tender meat, and incredibly satisfying. I was also pleasantly surprised by the stir-fried green beans ….simple, fragrant, and cooked to perfection. And the fried rice? Truly a signature dish. Balanced, aromatic, and easily one of the best fried rice dishes I’ve ever had. Every dish we tried was excellent, with no weak points at all. From food quality to the overall experience, everything was deeply impressive. This meal alone made the trip even more memorable, and I would absolutely return without hesitation.

I had another wonderful dining experience at Ya Ge in the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei. I’ve been coming here for lunches and dinners since the restaurant first opened, and every visit reminds me why it remains one of my favorite places in the city. The food was, as always, exceptional — but what truly made this visit special was the outstanding service. A heartfelt thank you to Christine and Janice, who took such great care of us throughout the meal. They were warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful, and their genuine hospitality elevated the entire experience. I was also pleasantly surprised by the birthday arrangement they prepared. It was a beautiful and meaningful gesture that made my celebration even more memorable. Ya Ge continues to deliver refined cuisine, elegant ambiance, and world‑class service. Thank you again to Christine, Janice, and the whole team for making our visit unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in Taipei!
