Kwong Shop Seafood Restaurant

Great local business and a lovely alternative to some of the more touristy seafood restaurants in town. The service was fast and excellent, and the food fresh & flavorful. The only complaint I have is that we weren’t in town longer to sample more of the 100+ dishes this restaurant has! We ate here twice and had their roast duck, fried squid with curry and chili paste, and the fried seafood with basil leaves. Their prawn cakes are also incredible. The pricing here is very fair and the portions are large. Lastly, it can be challenging finding good but reasonably priced cocktails and the tequila sunrise I had was perfection. Definitely worth trying if you’re staying around Kata/Karon Beach in Phuket The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. What impressed me the most was that they remembered me when I walked past the restaurant the second time, even though I had only eaten there once before haha 🤭 The place was very busy, but the food came out surprisingly fast. Portions were also very generous. We were only two people, but since we wanted to try many dishes, we ordered around 5–6 items and everything was satisfying 👉👈 My bill was 850THB for 2 people with several dishes. The only downside is that the space is quite small, so when it gets crowded, it can feel a bit hot and packed. Overall, great food, fast service, big portions, and lovely staff. I would still definitely come back.

100% worth it and will definitely be back. 4 Pax for dinner around 730pm. 1500BHT aka $68AUD (6 dishes 5 drinks) It was very busy and food took a little while to come out but it was peak dinner. Dishes: -Garlic butter prawns juicy, flavourful prawns were shelled which is the best. Delicious! Perfectly cooked, the flavour was so good and well seasoned. definitely be back for these. -Scallops with garlic butter, also delicious, scallops were small though so next time we're ordering two plates -2x crabs with glass noodles the oyster sauce one. Crabs were full of meat, sweet and yummy. -mantis shrimp, ordered to try something new, meh, id rather the prawns. -chicken fried rice - good, seasoned -som tum- very garlicky which wasnt for me but still delicious. -drinks: watermelon shake, singa x 2, lychee martini and an orange fanta. Edit addition: we went back again and the food was just as delciious. This time we also had the pork laab so good and tasty and the som tum with anchovy which was my favourite! They also had sticky rice.

Lovely service, generous portions, and absolutely delicious food. We tried the Pad Thai, a coconut beverage, spring rolls and the chicken fried rice and we couldn’t have been happier with our meal. The prices are very reasonable considering the portion sizes. Highly recommended.

Excellent food with wide selection of dishes. Recommend the squid with yellow curry if you like mild spiciness. The portions are good and delicious with reasonable price compared to their immediate neighbours. Hint : Look for yellow signboard and staff with yellow shirts.
