Had a wonderful experience at Fern Forest Cafe. It’s not only a place for a good English breakfast, but they also serve Thai breakfast options — a great combination for anyone who wants to experience Thai food in a comfortable English-style cafe environment. The food was enjoyable, and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and able to communicate well in English, which makes the experience even better for foreigners and travellers. The cafe environment is very clean, peaceful, and surrounded by greenery. Surprisingly, even with the garden atmosphere, there were no mosquitoes, making it very comfortable to relax and enjoy the meal. One small note for those who are driving: parking spaces nearby are quite limited, so it’s better to plan ahead. Overall, a beautiful cafe with good food, great service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended. 🌿☕️
Fern Forest Cafe is a hidden tropical oasis right in the heart of Chiang Mai's Old City. The moment you step through the entrance, you are greeted by a lush canopy of ferns and mature trees that make you feel like you’ve wandered into a secret garden. I absolutely loved the ambiance, which strikes a perfect balance between a tranquil forest setting and the vintage elegance of a colonial-style white wooden house. Whether you sit outside by the koi pond and small waterfall or inside near the grand piano, the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and restorative. The coffee here is equally impressive, served with a level of care that complements the serene surroundings perfectly. Every cup feels like a craft experience, providing the ideal caffeine kick to accompany a slow morning or a mid-day break from temple-hopping. However, the real star of the table for me was the tiramisu, which was rich, creamy, and expertly layered. The balance of the bold espresso-soaked sponge against the light mascarpone was divine, making it easily one of the best versions I’ve tried in the city. Between the chirping birds and the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, the entire dining experience felt like a scene from a fairytale. It is the kind of place where the service is as warm as the sunshine, making you feel immediately at home. I would highly recommend Fern Forest Cafe to anyone looking for high-quality brews and desserts served in a beautiful, shaded sanctuary. It is truly a must-visit destination for those who appreciate great food paired with a stunning natural environment.
We went to this cafe on the last Saturday! The atmosphere was enjoyable (with the soft music make it more comfortable in here), food was delicious and especially the coconut cake is recommended. Although the service quite dissapointed me a bit since some waitress wasn’t friendly in my opinion, but ofc not all of them! This could be a 10/10 if I haven’t experienced that. Overall, this is the “place to go” in Chiang Mai - should consider to visit at least once if you want to indulge yourself. Better on weekends if they have any special music events.
This is a popular internet-famous restaurant. It’s almost full every day, and there’s often a waiting line. I passed by this morning and found less than half the seats occupied. Since it wasn’t crowded, I decided to have breakfast here. Overall, the food tastes great, and the service is very attentive. Dining in the garden offers beautiful scenery. There are also koi fish in the garden, and you can buy fish food to feed them. The only downside is that it gets extremely busy on normal days, making the place a bit noisy and lacking a quiet, relaxing vibe.
This charming little restaurant and café is a true hidden gem, beautifully surrounded by lush greenery that creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. One of the highlights is the peaceful pond filled with colorful koi carp, which adds a special, almost meditative touch to the place. The thoughtfully designed indoor seating is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to slow down, enjoy good food or coffee, and simply soak in the tranquil surroundings. Also calculate some waiting time for a free table if you come in the afternoon.
